Display Custom Contact Fields in Contact Gallery Search and Contact Profile |
Overview: In this help module, we look at how to use custom contact fields in your contact gallery or member directory. These custom fields can be used for both a custom search criteria in the galley view, as well as can be referenced to display the contact’s specified custom values in the full contact bio display.
We also cover how to set the My Account object to allow the signed in contact to update their own custom fields In their profile, as well as how you can update these fields in the back end via the contact editor.

Locations: Review the following locations where you can add, edit or set to display the custom contact fields here.
*Website Settings: Website Management/Website Settings Editor/Contact Section -> Custom Fields
*Always Set Custom Contact Fields in Website Settings first before using in any other content object. See here
Contact Gallery Object - Search Criteria: Contact Management/ Contact Galleries/Edit Mode -> Settings/Find the Show Search options and check the desired custom contact field.
Contact Gallery Full Display Setting - Assignment: Contact Management/ Contact Galleries/Edit Mode/Settings -> Display Contact Full Display Method
Contact Gallery Full Contact Display - Editor: Contact Management/All Contacts/Contact Displays/Edit Mode/Settings/Profile Information -> Find desired custom fields checkboxes
My Account – My Profile Section: Content Management/My Account/Edit Mode/settings Profile Information -> Find desired custom fields checkboxes.
Contact Editor Custom Fields: Contacts/Contact Editor/ Profile Section -> Custom Fields
Contact Forms: Marketing & Automation/Forms and Surveys/Form Editor -> Insert Contact Question Menu
Rules: Marketing & Automation/Rules/Rule Editor ->
Set rule trigger to Form-Filled Out/ Specific form and select, then in the If this is True Condition Field – utilize the Contact Has Entered a Specific Value then you can choose a custom contact question.
