How to Refund Event Registration Orders with Return to Inventory |
Location: Ecommerce/Orders/Order Editor -> Save and Create Refund Button
Note: Any credit card order placed within less than 24 hours will automatically become a void via the Refund Button/Submit as the credit card was never actually charged.

It's important to note that Refunds are a new type of order record. The original order will still be kept intact, mark as paid, but in addition a new record will reference that order number and be a Refund type order. This is done in order to keep a historical record financial and otherwise of what transactions occurred.
The above tutorial and steps is for refunding an event registration and retuning the seat to inventory using the order editor as found under Ecommerce/ Orders, on in the Orders Section of a Contact Record. Note that Event orders and registrations can also be refunded and managed in the Events Conference Console if this is set up for your site. The process for refunding and returning to inventory will be simplified in that setting. Look for other help text on this coming soon under the Events Management as separate course.
