Order Editor - Apply Coupon Code Discount to Order

Location: Ecommerce/Orders/Order Editor -> Codes Area

Overview: Add the coupon code to the coupon code input in the codes field of the order editor. If the coupon code is valid, when you click out of that input field, the editor will refresh and show the discounted price in the items section of the order editor.

A Multiple Customer/Single use type coupon code will only apply if you type it in, the system does not do an auto-look up for coupon codes.

How does the system decide which discount to offer for an item if there is more than one active discount?

It is important to know that the ecommerce system is designed to automatically do a look up for any other relevant discounts on a product or item such as member discounts, advanced pricing, discounts offered with Rules, and General Site-Wide Coupons. If the system does find more than one relevant discount for a product or item, it will automatically offer the customer the lowest price discount, which may or may not be the coupon code discount you just typed in.

Can you offer a coupon discount in addition to other discounts?

Yes, you can set a coupon discount to be applied in addition to any other discounts, or instead of any other discounts—which would be dependent on if it is the lowest discounted price. This setting is located within the individual coupon editor. See help section under Coupons:  Allow Coupon Discount Stacking Yes or No
